The Illusion Of Freedom

The Freedom we have, is it truly freedom or are we chained to an "Illusion!"

A Very old narrative known as " Democracy!"

Freedom is a concept that predates a lot of  political and societal issues. Before the concept of Democracy, There were nations dictated by world leaders, Monarchies and Aristocracies;

 whether it's the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt or Louis XIV of France, who famously declared, "L'État, c'est moi" ("I am the state"), emphasizing his absolute authority.

Time has always shown us that power overruled freedom, it decided the fate of The Great war and also filled history with human atrocity such as Slavery and Genocide.

Now, a concept came out a long time ago "Democracy", if you are thinking it is something new, it's not. The origin of democracy can be traced back to ancient Greece, particularly Athens, in the 5th century BCE and The Roman Republic, while not a democracy in the Athenian sense, featured elements of representative government and it was around 500 BCE.

But, the democracy we know now is the aftermath of World war II and till today , the so called contemporary era where
democracy exists in various forms across the world, ranging from liberal democracies to hybrid systems.

I wonder is this all just façade a way of manipulating human mind an illusion to satisfy our natural instinct of freedom. Till today we've been facing many political agendas but the
difference is somewhere in the equation or system in political one, we are voting for it to happen but even then the end decision comes on the behalf of majority or so do we think.

Issues such as corruption, inequality, and the influence of powerful interest groups can be seen as undermining the democratic ideal. It also concerns about the manipulation of public opinion through propaganda, misinformation, and media control,

with each reels you are swiping!

Do you think you are in Control!

Power and society runs through a very dynamic mindset that me, you or anyone else can't control. That's why we always see Political parties getting overthrown after every few years whether it's America or India or any other country.

Some argue that the concept of democracy is culturally specific and may not be universally applicable or suitable for all societies. Different historical, cultural, and social contexts can shape the success or challenges of democratic governance.

A sense of control is required to hold a society! many people will argue but in reality, who are we to talk, Just remember the next time you turn a page of your newspaper or the next reel you swipe, JUST REMIND YOUSRSELF THIS QUESTION!

ARE YOU IN CONTROL, ARE YOU REALLY FREE!?
